In March of 2017, BrewDog announced that they were building the world’s first crowdfunded craft beer hotel at their US brewing compound in Columbus, Ohio. Fast forward to 18 months later and The DogHouse is a go!
Here’s the deal…
Scotland’s punk brewers don’t want for ambition, and their new US craft beer hotel now open for guests is a prime example.
It’s just the latest addition to BrewDog’s far-ranging empire that recently opened a new sour facility at its headquarters in Scotland…is building a new brewery in Australia while targeting China for another.
Combining a Disney like whimsy with a punk sensibility, The DogHouse was designed to be the ultimate immersive experience for beer pilgrims around the planet…And from what we’ve seen they got that job done and then some.
Featuring 32 rooms, including a 460-square-foot Punk suite, guests to The DogHouse can kick back in their rooms with a Punk IPA while enjoying expansive views of the BrewDog compound including the new sour facility which adjoins the new designer hotel.
Guest rooms come complete with a minibar packed with a hand-picked collection of signature brews. And there’s also an active beer tap in every room so visitors can enjoy a fresh pint when the minibar runs dry.
Plus DogHouse Columbus also offers special puppy-friendly rooms for visitors with pets…and a media center that features their very own TV show, Brew Dogs.
As part of this much-anticipated opening, BrewDog recently unveiled a striking new on-site, beer museum.
This 6,000 sq. ft. interactive space takes visitors on a journey through the brewing process, a deep dive into the history of craft beer, and offers a hands-on experience of ‘the fundamental four’ ingredients that contribute to the creation of a craft beer.
DogHouse Columbus started off as an audacious pipe dream, (as may of their ideas do), that fast became a reality after a crowdfunding campaign quadrupled BrewDog’s initial goal, enabling them to enrich their hotel with even more amazing additions including the new sour facility.
And soon BrewDog will be embarking on a new DogHouse hotel addition to their brewing compound in Aberdeen, Scotland.
And we have to ask…Don’t these guys ever sleep?
