Summer is ON! And brewers are addressing the season with new offerings you might want to chase down this weekend.
Reasons To Dance (Pittsburgh, PA) – American Craft Beer was recently invited to Pittsburgh to cover its impressive craft beer scene. And we spent an early evening drinking several beers with Andrew Witchey, founder of Dancing Gnome Brewing, who sent us home with a serious IPA that’s worth making a road trip for.
Described by the brewery as a “lush and plush experience,” (they got that right!), which is layered with Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra hops, Dancing Gnome Gravel IPA is a 6.6% ABV celebration of bike and beer culture with juicy orange, lemon meringue and blueberry Pop-Tart tones.
Inspired By West Texas (Austin, TX) – Lone Star Brewing has a new Culture Series release that celebrates the spirit and taste of Texas’ Big Bend region. Brewed in the Hill Country of Austin with the finest ingredients Texas has to offer, Lone Star High Desert Days is a 4.6% ABV Wheat=Style Ale that is finished with hibiscus and agave nectar.
Into the Stratosphere (Venice, CA) – The Propagator, Firestone Walker’s experimental small-batch brewing facility in SoCal has a new Single Hop limited release that’s available in the latest “Crafted Thru Hops” IPA mixed pack.
Brewed exclusively with Strata hops, a once experimental hop that brewers are increasing working with, Firestone Propagator Series Strata Hazy IPA is a 5.6% ABV India Pale Ale with bright citrus, orange candy and passionfruit notes, and a pronounced Pacific Northwest dankness.
Firestone Walker’s latest “Crafted Thru Hops” mixed pack—12 x 12-ounce cans—also includes three other hop-forward beers from the California brewer: Mind Haze, a hazy IPA done the Firestone way; the West Coast IPA legend known as Union Jack; and the latest release in the Luponic Distortion IPA rotating hop series.
