Summer is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with a heat-ready roster of BIG beers that come in HUGE 19.2oz cans.

Make Plans For A Big Trip (Atlanta, GA) – SweetWater Brewing, currently the leading craft beer brand in the Southeast, has released, a high-ABV extension of its popular Daytrip IPA that delivers  bright citrus notes and a smooth, tropical aroma..

Built on a deft mix of Mosaic, Idaho 7, Sultana, Citra, and El Dorado hops and a modest malt bill that avoids the heavy malt presence sometimes found in other Imperial IPAs, SweetWater Big Trip Double IPA is a balanced 9% ABV India Pale Ale that the brewery expects will appeal to both hard core craft fans and casual drinkers.

“Double IPAs continue to trend in popularity as the number two craft style in the Southeast,” said Evan Woolard, Senior Brand Manager for SweetWater Brewing. “Building on the huge success of Daytrip, we are continuing the momentum by doubling down on the flavor, ABV and innovation with Big Trip.”

“Double IPAs are the number one style for 19.2 oz cans, and this introduction evolves SweetWater’s robust portfolio in that format,” Woolard added. “With tall singles and six packs accounting for 80% of sales for high-ABV brews in the Southeast, this rollout reinforces our strategy to prioritize those formats and build on one of the brand’s best-selling IPAs.”

Big New Bear Hug (Chicago, IL) – Goose Island Beer Co. has a uber-popular addition to its popular “Beer Hug” family of IPAs, with the kind of fruit blast that’s welcome as things begin to warm up.

Crafted with a smart mix of hops including  the fruity Idaho 7 variation, Goose Island’s Big Hazy Pineapple Beer Hug IPA is a massive 9.9% ABV India Pale Ale with bright, ripe pineapple notes and a hazy, smooth finish that belies the beer’s  high alcohol content. And in addition to being available in 6-packs of 12oz cans you can also drink big from one of those convenience store-ready 19.oz cans.

An Aggressive Use Of Force (Fort Collins, CO) – New Belgium Brewing is responding to a growing segment of craft beer consumers demanding high-octane beers in BIG cans with the newest addition to its highly successful Voodoo Ranger IPA line.

Say hello to Voodoo Ranger G-Force, a massive 11% ABV mango flavored Triple India Pale Ale that comes in all kinds of formats including massive 19.2oz cans.

A 19oz can of New Belgium "Voodoo Ranger G-Force Supercharged Juicy IPA" next to a full glass of the golden-hazed beer on black background.“With the enormous response to Tropic Force and Juice Force, we asked ourselves, ‘How do you top a ten? You take it to eleven,” said Kiron Chakraborty, Marketing Director of Voodoo Ranger. “Even at 11% ABV, G‑Force tastes exactly like a Voodoo Ranger should: super juicy, full of flavor, and built for lift‑off.”
