Summer is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with award-winning brews that you’ll want to chase down.
A World Beer Cup Winner That Could Only Be Made In Arkansas (Little Rock, AK) – Lost Forty Brewing, Arkansas’s largest craft brewery and a cornerstone of the Little Rock community since 2014, has been awarded a Silver Medal at the 2026 World Beer Cup for an incredibly unique brew.
A study in restraint and precision, TWIG Solera Table Bier is a refreshing, effervescent, lightly tart 3.9% ABV ale — a low-alcohol wild ale, made entirely in Arkansas from locally cultivated wild yeast and bacteria cultures. The Solera method — a centuries-old fractional blending technique — allows the beer to develop layered character over time as fresh wort is continuously introduced to the living.
“TWIG is one of the most personal beers we’ve ever made. It’s a living beer — literally grown from the wild cultures that exist right here in Little Rock, fermented in Arkansas oak. To have it recognized on the world’s biggest stage is a reminder of why we do things the hard way.. We’re a brewery that takes the long way around, and apparently, so does TWIG.” — Lost Forty Brewing
Named “Brewery of the Year” at GABF in 2020, Lost Forty has now earned four World Beer Cup awards across four competitions, including bronze medals in 2018 for Wild Barrels Project #5 (Experimental Beer) and Double Love Honey Doppelbock (German-Style Doppelbock or Eisbock), and a 2022 bronze for Puffy Jacket Baltic Porter (International Dark Lager).

A Touch Of The Tropics (Hood River, OR) – pFriem Family Brewers has a new year-round offering that seems perfectly timed. Crafted using cutting-edge brewing practices, including concentrated Krush Cryo hops, to achieve intense flavor and aroma while maintaining shelf stability, pFriem Tropical Hazy IPA is a vibrant 6.3% ABV India Pale Ale lush n pineapple, mango, and passion fruit notes, a soft, full-flavored mouthfeel and a restrained bitterness.
Visually, the beer pours a vibrant golden hue with gentle haze and a persistent white foam. On the palate, tropical fruit character leads, supported by structure and drinkability designed for repeat pours rather than one-off novelty.
” We’ve noticed that the Hazy IPA drinker enjoys light-hearted and dynamic tropical flavors, which we are really leaning into with our new Tropical Hazy IPA core beer,” says Josh Pfriem, Brewmaster and Co-founder of pFriem Family Brewers. “We are excited for this beer to be a go-to for fun, easy-going, and youthful occasions where drinkers are looking for a flavorful, quality, and well-balanced beer.”
