People of Australia – we are heading down under to build a brewery for you.”

When BrewDog’s co-founders James Watt and Martin Dickie make promises, they tend to keep them. And in 2017 they promised to build a BrewDog brewery in Australia which now looks to open near Brisbane, by the end of the year…

Here’s the deal…

In 2018, BrewDog broke ground on its $30 million destination brewery. Once completed, the new riverfront brewery in Queensland will be state-of-the-art facility. And now the Scotland-headquartered global brewing organization has announced that they’re on target to open the “designer brewery” by the end of 2019.

In addition to the brewery itself, BrewDog’s  new family and dog friendly brewing campus will also be home to an artisan restaurant, a taproom (of course) and visitor center. It is projected to bring more than 150 jobs to the region over the next five years.

And BrewDog has announced that it’s upped the ante on its original plans considerably…

“The new building will house a fully-automated four vessel 25HL brewing system, which gives us more flexibility with greater capacity than the original two vessel 50HL we initially planned to use.”

“ It will allow us to scale up once we are up and running and means our BrewDog Australia brewing team can hook up our customers with more small-batch brews alongside our Headliner and Core range – and with a fully-automated canning line we’ll be packaging these beers in the best way to ensure those flavors are passed on to you.”BrewDog, BrewDog To Open New Brewery In Australia This Year

BrewDog is now in the process of installing a barrel-aging house at its new brewing compound near Brisbane and has already begun a series of brewing collaborations with some of Australia’s most exciting craft brewers.

In 2018, one of BrewDog’s most seasoned brewers Franz Horak, make the trek down to Australia where he collaborated with five kick-ass breweries including Brisbane’s Green Beacon, Sydney-based Batch Brewing, Canberra’s Capital Brewing Company, Melbourne’s Hop Nation and Adelaide-based Mismatch Brewing.

Those envelope-pushing collaborations, all brewed with local ingredients, make their debut at the Beer & BBQ Festival in Sydney, one of Australia’s most prominent craft beer events.
