The seasons are changing and American craft brewers are keeping things fun with interesting new beers you’re gonna want to chase down this weekend.
Better Red Than Dead (Baltimore, MD) – DuClaw Brewing has a new addition to its core lineup that’s been in production for years and is now getting a real spotlight. Riding a stylistic resurgence, DuClaw Misfit Red is a 5% ABV American Red Ale that melds the instincts of the malty Amber with the snap of an Irish Red Ale.
‘Looking back at our core lineup, we saw an opportunity to diversify, and add flair without sacrificing flavor,” said DuClaw CEO and Founder, Dave Benfield. For longtime fans of DuClaw, ‘Misfit Red’ is a friendly face.”
Ironed Out (New Orleans LA) – Faubourg Brewing, the oldest operating brewery in New Orleans, has released its newest seasonal and it’s named after the legendary ornate wrought iron balconies that adorn New Orleans. Brewed with an ultra-modern IPA yeast and precise brewing techniques to unlock more flavor from the style, Faubourg Iron Lacing is a 75 ABV Hazy IPA with bright peach and passionfruit aromatics and rich pineapple and mandarin notes.
“With Iron Lacing, our brewing team explored new hopping techniques and novel yeasts to create something unique,” said Dan Griffin, Director of Brewing Operations at Faubourg Brewing. “While Iron Lacing was fermenting, the entire brewery was filled with fruity bouquet aromas and got everyone excited for this limited release.”
An Upside Down Year Round (Comstock Park, MI) – Perrin Brewing has a fun year-round offering that’s reminiscent of a popular cake. Brewed with wheat and lactose to create a creamy cake-like malt body and nuanced by pineapple fruit Perrin Pineapple Upside Down IPA is an 8.5% ABV India Pale Ale with a tropical coconut finish.
