, The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill- July 22, 2015Hardywood Park Announces Plans For New Destination Brewery (Richmond, VA) – With breweries like Devils Backbone draw crowds to the Shenandoah Valley, Green Flash in Norfolk and Stone planning a new operation in Richmond – Virginia is fast becoming a craft beer tourism location. And now Hardwood Park has announced that they’ll building a new brewery campus on 24 acres of lush Virginia countryside in nearby Goochland County.The new campus, which will be built in phases, will accommodate brewing and packaging facilities, a taproom and beer garden, agricultural fields, a food truck plaza, bocce courts, a natural amphitheater for live performances and walking paths connecting to a planned creek-side trail system. The first phaseis scheduled to open by the spring of 2017.

Artists & Artisans (Washington, DC) – Our friends at 3 Stars will be throwing their 3rd annual Artists & Artisans Summer Jam this Sunday (July 26th) from 2-6pm, and it’s always a good time. The brewery into a “locavore market” packed with local food trucks, chefs, artists, musicians, distillers and designers. 3 Stars will also be unlocking their cellar and pouring a ton of rare and exclusive beers so you don’t want to miss that.

New Belgium Plans New 10-Barrel Brewery In The Mile High City (Denver, Co) – New Belgium has announced plans to open a small-batch pilot brewery and wood-aging operation at The Source Hotel in Denver’s River North District.

, The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill- July 22, 2015A Quality Guy Gets A Quality Gig (Boulder, CO) – Our good friend, Dick Cantwell has been named Quality Ambassador at the Brewers Association and we’re happy for him. In this role, Cantwell will spread the “quality gospel” at presentations across the country. As one of the industry’s well-respected and experienced craft brewers, Cantwell co-founded Elysian Brewing in 1996, where he served as head brewer until its sale to Anheuser-Busch in 2015.

Iron Maiden 666 (United Kingdom) – Spurred on by having sold 10 million pints of their debut beer, Trooper, Iron Maiden has decided to up the ante with a new limited release in the fall. Created by Iron Maiden’s vocalist Bruce Dickinson in collaboration with the UK’s Robinson Brewery, Trooper 666 will bump the ABV up from 4.7% to 6.6% and will be very limited release.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all the breweries who ship us beer from time to time. It’s always great to sample the brews that we write about and helps to give us a better feel for what’s happening out there. And last night we hit a special Legendary Series release that we just received from Lakewood Brewing. Saint Dymphna is an 8.6% Belgian-style Tripel brewed with Linden flowers and it was pretty awesome!
