Game of Thrones gets its own Craft Beer. HBO’s hit fantasy series will be getting its own branded beer when it returns to the air on March 31st. According to the New York Times, HBO “will team up with Brewery Ommegang, a Belgian-style brewery in Cooperstown N.Y., to create beers based on themes and characters in the fantasy series adapted from the novels by George R. R. Martin.” Iron Throne Blonde Ale will debut in March and its release is set to coincide with the season three premiere of Game of Thrones.
Baxter Finishes 2012 Big!(Lewiston, ME) – Baxter Brewing Company has had a big year. Not only did they introduce three new seasonal beers, they also brewed 8,000 barrels of beer in 2012 – a 63% increase over last year’s production! Esquire Magazine also named their new seasonal release,Celsius Summer Ale, as one of the “8 Best Hard-to-Find Summer Ales of 2012.”
White Birch Lowers Prices on Flagships(Hooksett, NH) – In a move than runs counter to prevailing trends in the industry, White Birch Brewing is lowering prices on its flagshipBelgian Style Pale Ale and Hop Session Ale. This price rollback is due to new equipment and the in-house efficiencies that allow them to pass on lower prices to their fans.
Get Your Picture Taken With The Monkey!(Honeoye Falls, NY) – Who doesn’t want that? In celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of their flagship beer Caged Alpha Monkey, CB’s Brewing Company is launching an “Uncaged” Tour 2013. The tour kicks off at CB’s Brewing Company on Friday December 28, 2012 from 4 – 9pm and continues in Rochester, NY on January 4th, where the monkey, his girlfriend and his entourage will be chauffeured in a H2 Hummer to 4 select locations Rochester. C’mon…does it get any better than that?
4 Hands Has 3 More! (St. Louis, MO) – 4 Hands Brewing Company, a craft brewery located in St. Louis, Missouri, will release three seasonal offerings this winter as well as two more to celebrate their one year anniversary. The first winter offering is Smoked Pigasus — a smoked rye maple porter – followed by Chocolate Milk Stout and Bona Fide Imperial Stout which will be released in January 2013
A New Release You Want to Look Out For
The Bruery just released this year’s Mélange #3 -their 15% ABV blend of White Oak Sap, Anniversary and Black Tuesday. They started tapping it at their Tasting Room and Provisions last Friday and bottles are, hopefully, still available.
