Pliny Cometh Friday As Russian River Builds A New Brewery

Pliny, Pliny Cometh Friday As Russian River Builds A New Brewery

This Friday the legendary beer pilgrimage begins again as crowds descend on Russian River’s compound in Santa Rosa, California for the chance to taste Pliny the Younger, still one of the most heralded beers in the world.

Sold for only two weeks every February, this renowned Triple IPA has enshrined Russian River Brewing as one of Americas’ most important craft operations.

Russian River’s brewpub is a craft beer magnet that drew almost 400,000 beer lovers in 2017.

And now Russian River’s founders Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo have embarked on the next leg of their legacy,  a new state-of-the-art brewing facility in nearby Windsor which has been described as “part Disneyland, part Hofbräuhaus” by the Press Democrat.

Now 25% completed, the new 85,000-square-foot brewing hub located on 10 acres, will be a huge upgrade from their current brewpub which opened in 2004 and hasn’t expanded much beyond its 175-customer capacity…as well as their and their current production facility in Santa Rosa with maximum annual capacity of 20,000 barrels and doesn’t offer tours.

And happily that just means more Piney the Younger for everybody.
