Spring is ON, and summer not far away, and American craft brewers are addressing the changing season with ambitious new offerings worth your time…

Ghosted (Baltimore, MD) – Heavy Seas Beer has a new 15 Barrel Brewhouse exclusive that will debut on April 30… These special small batch releases usually sell out immediately, so you know what to do. Brewed with pineapple, passion fruit and mango purees, Heavy Seas Spectrology Sour is a tart and tropical ale that is best enjoyed in the company of other ghost hunters.

“We’ve employed a unique lactic acid producing strain of yeast to create this tart, fruity sour,” said Heavy Seas Brewmaster Christopher Leonard. “Pineapple, mango, and passion fruit purees lend a bright tropical nose to the beer.  The quenching tang and zesty mouthfeel provide a balanced compliment to this unique treat.”

Spectrology Sour’s label artwork was designed by local Baltimore artist, Chris Shiner, of Chris Shiner Art. All the taproom exclusive beer labels will be designed by Shiner in 2021.

Drifting West (Orange County, GA) – The Bruery’s hop-forward offshoot, Offshoot Beer Co. has a new seasonal that celebrates summer’s pleasures. Brewed with a delicate menu of Amarillo, Simcoe, and Citra hops, Offshoot Drifting is an amber-hued 5.5% ABV Pale Ale that is described by the brewery as “an ode to classic, drinkable hoppy beer.”

One thing about this new release that will look a bit different to Offshoot fans is its can design…

“For our seasonal releases and small-batch offerings, we work with local artists across California to create a unique design that truly speaks to the beer itself” says Offshoot Brand Director, Caitie Gold. “The inspiration for this design was the feeling of drifting down a mountain stream, once you see it you’ll want to jump right into the scene.”

Bubbly By Nature (Colorado) – The revitalized Boulder Beer Company has a new addition to its refreshed portfolio that both pays homage to its storied past and looks to the future. Tropical, fruit-forward and totally sessionable, Boulder Beer Bubbly by Nature is a 4.5% ABV IPA with a fruit-forward juicy profile, which amazingly comes in a beer that doesn’t employ actual fruit.
