Summer is peaking and American craft brewers are addressing the season with intriguing new late summer offerings you’re gonna want to have around.
A Sense Of Place To Savor (Rio Grande, NJ) – Cape May Brewing has a new addition to its vast family of IPAs with smart packaging that celebrates a location the brewery calls home. From the multi-colored Victorian buildings that have transformed into bed and breakfasts, to historic landmarks like the Cape May Lighthouse and the bars and restaurants that have been around since the early 1800s, its label pays homage to the quirks and quaintness that make up Cape May.
Available soon in New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania, Cape May Bed of Shells is a sip-and-savor 8% ABV India Pale Ale bursting with juicy, floral Citra and Amarillo hops that deliver a bright tropical citrus-like finish. The can design went through many revisions before the brewery ultimately landed on what it is now… The font and colors Cape May Brewing ultimately chose are an ode to classic signage you will find on the Victorian homes throughout town.
An Oktoberfest Best! (Saint Louis, MO) – Schlafly Beer has a tasty fall release that’s authentic in its execution and evocation of heritage. A tribute to the brewery’s German roots that’s now available in gracious 16oz cans, Schlafly Oktoberfest is a 5.5% ABV Märzen-Style Ale crafted with select Munich malt and proud German hops. Oktoberfest beers can be all over the map but Schlafly nails it!
Pacific Lite (Kihei, Hawaii) – Maui Brewing has a sessionable new limited release which offers the huge hop experience that IPA lovers crave, with a lower alcohol content. Crafted with Nelson Sauvin, Loral, Citra Cryo, and Cryo Pop hops, Maui Pacific Lite is a crisp and uber-hoppy 4.2% ABV Session IPA with only 126 calories and 7g carbs.
“Combining New Zealand’s iconic fruit-forward Nelson Sauvin hops with West Coast favorites Citra and Loral, we’ve brewed the perfect session IPA for hot days and warm nights,” said Maui Director of Quality Travis Swafford. “Light-bodied with big citrus character, you’ll want to keep your cooler full.”
