Summer is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with exciting new beers you’re gonna want to have around.
New Retro Lager Celebrates Wes Anderson’s New Film (Milton, DE) – Dogfish Head Craft Brewery’s newest release celebrates Wes Anderson’s latest star-studded film, Asteroid City” which takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955 that is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.
Inspired by the movie’s rich and layered take on the typical science fiction flick, Dogfish Head Asteroid City Lager is a 5.3% ABV “Earthly” twist on a classic retro lager’s unassuming and refreshing nature. And like Wes Anderson’s movie this beer doesn’t take itself too seriously either.
“The magical, whimsical worlds Wes Anderson has created in his movies have been touchstones for our off-centered brand throughout the years,” said Dogfish Head Brewer & Founder, Sam Calagione. “From the playful and colorful design of our canal-front hotel, the Dogfish INN, to the vibrant and refreshing vibes of this Asteroid City Lager beer, Wes’ work inspires us, and this collaborative beer is a liquid celebration of this new frontier Wes and the entire team behind ‘Asteroid City’ have created.”
Sweet N’ Sour (Booneville, CA) – Anderson Valley Brewing has released a hazy spin on the traditional kettle sour concept that’s both low-calorie and low carb. Crafted using real guava and passion fruit flavors introduced during the fermentation process, Anderson Valley Tropical Hazy Sour is a highly aromatic 4.2% ABV year-round that’s even better in the summer.
Worth The Hunt (Chico, CA) – Sierra Nevada has returned a past classic that’s exclusively available this summer along with other “blasts from the past” in the brewery’s new Fan Favorites Pack. Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter IPA is brewed using vaporized oil from wet hops steam distilled in the hop field, minutes after harvest. This pure, powerful hop essence is used alongside traditional hops to create a 6.25 ABV IPA that was first introduced in 2015.
Lighten Up (Denver, Co) – If you’re looking to lighten things up this summer look no further than Blue Moon’s trip to the tropics. Crafted with fresh pineapple and orange peel that inform but never overpower, Blue Moon LightSky Tropical Wheat is a 4% ABV Wheat Ale with only 95 calories and 3.4g carbs.
