We love when a beer ad makes us laugh, and this Bud Light spot is so funny, we can’t stop watching it.

Bud Light is kicking off college football season with a new campaign starring Shane Gillis, who was announced as a new cast member on Saturday Night Live in 2019, before content from his podcast came to light that led to an Asian American backlash and his short-lived association with NBC’s sketch comedy series.
But Gillis’ comedic career has blossomed since then. He’s currently the star of Tires on Netflix, which he created along with Steve Gerben, and John McKeever, and also the star of Bud Light’s hilarious new beer ad.
Written alongside long-time comedy partner, John McKeever, who also directed the new content rolling out throughout the college football season, “The Dean’s Office” brings viewers to the Dean’s office and shares just how hard it is to pass up a cold Bud Light, even in exchange of some embarrassing admissions.
Shane Gillis as Coach Herb is the first to break the tension with his own personal secret as he cracks open a Bud Light, (he’s the guy in the back right) and it’s the funniest beer ad we’ve seen in some time, so enjoy!
“I like football and beer, especially Bud Light. It was fun to work with McKeever and Steve on this.” said actor and comedian Shane Gillis, who recently topped Netflix charts with his lauded comedy special Beautiful Dogs.

In conjunction with this campaign, Bud Light is rolling out new, limited-edition Bud Light team cans representing 26 teams across the country, featuring official team colors and prominent team logos. These special cans also feature a QR code with info on how to win a trip to an away game of their choice.
Bud Light’s college football campaign follows the launch of their 2024 NFL campaign, “Easy to Sunday,” which has fun with the hard work that goes into being a fan and, stars Peyton Manning who is also quite funny.
