Building upon the success of its first beer hotel in Columbus, Ohio, global craft brewer, BrewDog, is bringing its brilliant concept “down under.”
Here’s the deal…
Scotland-headquartered BrewDog is making moves in Australia with plans for the country’s first beer hotel, to be located in Brisbane.
The initiative is part of the company’s two-year expansion push, which also includes launching several new sites for Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, as well as a second BrewDog in Brisbane.
BrewDog has been in the beer hotel biz for a while now and it’s been a hugely successful for them. In 2018 it opened its first beer hotel next to its brewing compound in Winchester, Ohio. They also offer much more upscale boutique center-city operations they call The Kennels, one above a BrewDog bar in Aberdeen, Scotland, the other in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

Back in the day, many UK Pubs offered sleeping rooms in the back of their venues. It was a marriage made in heaven. These stripped down units made village pubs all-in-one locations where travelers could eat, drink and be merry…and then crash in a backroom. And both The Kennels, which the company is (in its own understated way) describes “a revolution in accommodation,” and its beer hotels are a contemporary take on that concept.
BrewDog has also announced plans for a new beer hotel on the grounds of their Ellon, Scotland brewing campus, with 26 room overlooking a brand new brewhouse. They also are exploring ambitious plans for a new beer hotel in London…

“Like its Columbus counterpart we will ensure that all rooms in the DogHouse London will have fresh craft beer you can pour for yourself in each room – and our now iconic shower-beer fridges will also feature. Hell, we may even fit a Punk IPA Jacuzzi as well.”
“Nothing is off limits at the moment – once we find a location we will make our London hotel every bit as amazing as the one on the other side of the Atlantic.”
Expect DogHouse Brisbane, which will be built next to its 3000sq m state-of-the-art brewery in Brisbane,to have all the bells and whistles now associated with a BrewDog hotel including shower beer fridges draft beer taps in every room.
DogHouse Brisbane is projected to open in mid-2022, while new BrewDog sites in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth hope to open their doors between now and 2023.
