August is ON…And brewers are addressing the warm weather with a variety of intriguing new beer offerings that pair brilliantly with the season.

Märzen This! (Alexandria, VA) – Port City Brewing is returning one of its most popular seasonals, a lager inspired by a late-September party that’s been celebrated in the City of Munich for more than 200 years. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, Port City Oktoberfest is a 5.2% ABV Märzen Lager with sweet bready notes and a clean, dry, noble hop finish.

A Cosmic Collaboration (Portland, OR) – Ecliptic Brewing and Bell’s Brewery of Comstock, Michigan have joined forces to craft the fourth Cosmic Collaboration release in Ecliptic’s 5 Years/5 Beers Series, which celebrates the company’s fifth anniversary. Crafted with two row, pale and Munich malts, along with Oregon Strata hops and two hop varieties from New Zealand, Galaxy and Teehee, Ecliptic/Bell’s Juicy IPA is an 8.5% ABV New England-Style India Pale Ale that won’t disappoint.

A Berry Welcome Return (Bend, OR) – In a departure from more ‘expected’ directions, Deschutes Brewery has a new Sour Series release that you might want to check out. Brewed with locally sourced berries and Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops, Deschutes Marionberry & Lavender is a 4.3% ABV American Sour toned with Oregon marionberries and aromatic lavender., Beer Alert – New Fruit Sours, Mojito Lagers And IPA’s

Mojito-Inspired (Pacific City, OR) – Pelican Brewing has a new addition to its Lone Pelican Cocktail Series and this one takes its lead from a classic Cuban highball. Brewed with hibiscus, mint and lime, Pelican Jamaicito is a 4.5% ABV Mojito-inspired lager with a sweet lime tartness and an effervescent finish.

Tart Times (Baltimore, MD) – DuClaw Brewing has a new Sour Series release that we look forward to chasing down. Now available 16oz can 4-packs, DuClaw Sour Me Peach Sherbet is a 5.5% ABV kettle-soured limited release made with fresh peaches and lactose for big tart-sweet peach notes and a creamy, full body.
