This tasty recipe comes from the Oskar Blues Brewery in Longmont, Colorado and it uses the brewery’s iconic Dale’s Pale Ale, an assertive yet balanced 6.5% ABV American Pale Ale and the first canned craft beer in the nation.

This easy Beer Can Chicken Recipe guarantees moist meat that falls off the bone and spicy-crisp, ultra flavorful skin.

So let’s do this!

Dale’s Pale Ale Beer Can Chicken

Ingredients

1 fresh chicken (2-3lbs)

1/4 cup chicken spice rub

Directions

Step 1

Get your gas grill up to medium-high (about 375-400 degrees)

Step 2

Trim some from-under fat off the bottom of the chicken (helps prevent flare-ups)

Step 3

Dirty up that bird, inside and out, with your spice rub

Step 4

Drink half of the Dale’s Pale then insert the remaining 1/2 full can of into the chicken’s cavity and stand it upright on the grill

Step 5

Cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour, checking periodically for flare-ups until the internal temp reaches 165

Step 6

Gently lift chicken off the beer can, wiggling the chicken back and forth to prevent it from sticking. Cut chicken into pieces and serve immediately.
