June is hot, hot, hot. And craft brewers are keeping things interesting with new beers you’re gonna want to chase down this weekend.

A Classic Aged (San Diego, CA) – AleSmith Brewing Company is returning its aged Speedway Stout and releasing it outside of the brewery for the first time in company history. It’s also the first time that they are releasing it in more manageable 12oz bottles.

Aged to perfection in premium Bourbon barrels for almost a year, AleSmith Barrel-Aged Speedway Stout 2022 is a complex 13.3% ABV Imperial Coffee Stout with intense caramel, chocolate, vanilla, oak, bourbon, fruit, and coconut notes, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and a rich, creamy finish that lingers.

When asked about the motivation for the reduced bottle size, AleSmith Owner, Peter Zien remarked, “For years, fans of our Barrel-Aged beer program have enjoyed our offerings in the large 750ml (25.4 oz.) glass bottle format.  This size was ideal for cellaring beer and sharing with friends but with changing consumer preferences, we wanted to offer a size that could be shared or enjoyed by one.”

¡Órale! (Shiner TX) – Órale! is an authentically Mexican term that can be a greeting, a question, an affirmation or a call to action. And now it’s a new  addition to Shiner’s growing family of beers. Crafted with premium 2-row malt and Lager yeast and brewed with agave, Shiner ¡Órale! Is a 4.5% ABV Mexican Lager with mildly sweet and earthy notes.

“I am thrilled to combine my Mexican heritage with a Mexican style lager bearing the Shiner label and the Spoetzl Brewery’s commitment to quality,” says Carlos Alvarez, CEO of The Gambrinus Company in San Antonio, TX, who acquired the Spoetzl Brewery in 1989. “I know Shiner fans will enjoy Órale! – a word that expresses so much in the Spanish language.”

, Weekend Beer: New Mexican Lagers And Barrel-Aged StoutsTurbo-Charged (Washington, DC) –   DC Brau is returning a special limited release that became its own phenomenon when it first debuted in the DC area a couple of years back. Fermented with Voss Kveik, a Norwegian Farmhouse yeast, known to produce flavors that complement the fruity Falconer’s Flight, Mosaic, Simcoe & Azacca hops, , DC Brau Turbo Boost Multiball is a 6.7% ABV Experimental IPA with bright tropical citrus, passionfruit, and mango flavors that blend seamlessly with slightly bitter notes of pine and orange peel.
