We blame the industry for this… It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. There was little need to check in for updates – things were pretty much done. But clearly all that’s changed.

So here’s some of what’s happened in the world of craft beer while you were off enjoying yourself.

New Belgium’s East Coast Tasting Room To Open Soon (Asheville, NC) – Starting May 2^nd, beer fans can kick back and enjoy a Fat Tire in New Belgium’s 6,000 square foot “Liquid Center” tasting room overlooking North Carolina’s scenic French Broad River. We’ll be there!

ACB On The Town (Washington, DC) – Last week ACB attended a crowded “coming out party” thrown by our friends at 3 Stars to showcase their new Urban Farmhouse Tasting Room – and as usual we had way too much fun. Conceived and constructed by design firm Studio 3877 and crafted using reclaimed wood and corrugated metal the 60-seat country-style “Urban Farmhouse” is a freestanding space within the brewery’s warehouse – and we have to admit it’s pretty awesome.

Homebrew Con Hits Charm City (Baltimore, MD) – Homebrewers from everywhere on the planet will be making the pilgrimage to Baltimore this summer, for the National Homebrewers Conference, which now has a new name: Homebrew Con. Hosted by the American Homebrewers Association, Homebrew Con 2016 is a three-day (June 9^th -11^th)  celebration of homebrewing culture and competition. An estimated 3,200 attendees will have the opportunity hear from over 90 presenters, including keynote speaker Sam Calagione, and to participate in a vast array of interactive seminars, workshops and demonstrations.

Homebrew Con Gets Competitive (Baltimore, MD) – The 38th annual conference will also be home to the final round of judging in this year’s National Homebrew Competition, the world’s largest beer competition, which recognizes the most outstanding homebrewed beer, mead and cider
