So many beers- So little time… Exotics and warm weather seasonals define this week’s newbies and we’ve a number interesting new offerings that you’ll want to chase down…Plus we’ve some new releases from Double Mountain and Lakewood that sound serious as well.

Summertime Pils (Garland, TX) – Lakewood is one of our favorite breweries. They recently took six medals at the U.S. Beer Open, (coming in #2 overall right behind Ballast Point) and just sent us their new summer seasonal. Brewed with Belgian pilsner malt and noble hops, Lakewood Zomer Pils is a light, crisp, slightly sweet 4.8% refresher that pairs well with warm summer afternoons and air conditioning.

Da Pêche Mode (Hood River, OR) – The Double Mountain Brewery has added a third beer to their Sour Ales lineup and we love its name. Double Mountain Pêche Mode is an 8.6% Belgian Style Sour with peaches, that’s lightly tart and refreshing.

Wicked Weed Succeeds (Ashville, NC) – Wicked Weed Brewing recently released a collaboration they did with the Biltmore Estate’s winery. Wicked Weed Succession is a 7.3% Barrel-aged Golden Sour, brewed with Riesling Must (fresh pressed grapes with skins, seeds and stems.)

Drink Organic (St Paul. MN)  – Summit Brewinghas a year-round American Pale Ale that’s perfect in late-July. Introduced just this year, Summit Hopvale Organic Ale is the only USDA Certified Organic Session Ale that we know of. Brewed with organic barley is sourced from Montana and Wyoming and the organic hops from family farms in Washington and Idaho, this 4.7% ale delivers sustainability and serious hop punch at the same time.

Sky High Rye (Athens, GA) – Terrapin Beer’sMonster Beer Tour continues with a new release three times bigger than it has any right to be. Terrapin Rye Cubed Triple Rye IPA is a 10.7% ABV “monster of an IPA with three times the rye spiciness, rich caramel malt backbone, and hoppy bite than the original, Terrapin Rye.
