Summer is ON and American craft brewers are addressing the season with intriguing new offerings you’re gonna want to have around.
A Night At The Hopora (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing has a new addition to its Hop Cycle Series of rotating IPAs that was designed to showcase the radiant tropical fruit and citrus notes of Solero hops. Built on a solid backbone of pale malt, oats, and wheat, Tröegs Hopora IPA is a 6.2% ABV India Pale Ale with grapefruit rind and subtle pine notes
Like many of the Hershey, PA, brewery’s recent beers, Hopora was developed through its 3-barrel “Scratch Lab” brewhouse and fermentation tanks. “With the Scratch Lab, we can break up 15-barrel brews into smaller trials,” says Tröegs Brewing Manager Tim Mayhew. “It has allowed us to test things like dry-hop combinations and yeast strains side-by-side at a faster rate. We used to have to wait a few weeks between batches.”

Just Peachy (Croydon, PA) – Neshaminy Creek Brewing, an award-winning craft brewery and taproom located just north of Philadelphia, has introduced a new line of beers inspired by another Bucks County legend, Rita’s Italian Ice & Custard. The first beer was a tribute to Rita’s most popular flavor…mango. That beer sold out almost overnight (as did June’s Lemon version) but now there’s a new variation.
Pouring an enticing golden orange hue, Rita’s Fruit Brews Peach Ring Tart Peach Ale is a 5% ABV summertime pleaser with an intensely nostalgic aroma that brings to mind the gummy peach candies with hints of citrus and tropical fruit.
“This entire Rita’s Fruit Brews project has been a thrill to work on and we think this latest addition to the series may be the best one yet,” said Rob Jahn, Neshaminy Creek Founder and Head Brewer. “Following the success of our Mango and Lemon beers, we knew we had to take it to the next level. When we found out Rita’s would be doing a new Peach Ring Ice flavor, we couldn’t wait to do some experimenting in the brewhouse and absolutely love how the beer came out.”
