Summer is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with intriguing new offerings you’re gonna want to have around.
Sangria Beer (San Diego, CA) – Modern Times Beer has just released an exotic new variation of its their popular year-round Sour Ale. Crafted with grape, blackberry, black currant, orange, and lime that are balanced by the brewery’s in-house souring process, Modern Times Fruitlands Sangria Gose is a 4.8% ABV ‘sweet meets tart’ refresher that’s brimming with big fruit and citrus aromas.
“Fruitlands Sangria is a refreshing summer beer, perfect for sitting at the beach,” said Rob Wyngard, VP of Operations. “Rounded off with the lime and orange flavor you’d get from a fresh citrus wedge on the lip of your glass, we’ve skipped the need for prep and given you the whole experience in one convenient can.”
POGressive (Escondido, CA) – In 2016, actor and comedian Jonah Ray joined Stone brewer Kris Ketcham for a collaboration brew at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station. Ray, a native Hawaiian, grew up on the stuff island childhoods were made of – POG Juice. And now the brewery is bringing back an all-time fan favorite, this time bigger than ever.
Tart, refreshing, citrusy and quite simply spectacular, Stone Imperial Notorious P.O.G. is an 8% ABV fruit-forward Berliner Weisse with tart and effervescent tones that were inspired by the beloved island drink’s melding of passion fruit, orange and guava flavors.
“We’ve been experimenting with taking up the ABV on some of our favorite beers,” explained Kris Ketcham, Stone Brewing Senior Manager of Brewing & Innovation. “Stone Notorious P.O.G. stood out because not only does the imperial version taste amazing, you can’t even tell the ABV is higher. We knew our fans would welcome this upgrade to one of their favorites.”
Orange You Glad? (FT, Collins, CO) – SweetWater Brewing, the 9th largest craft brewer in the US, is celebrating things with something fruity and new. Available year-round exclusively in Colorado, SweetWater ORANGE is a refreshing and approachable 4.6% ABV Citrus Ale that is brewed with the finest Centennial hops and local wheat and craft malt from the Root Shoot Malting family farm in Loveland.
“We’re excited to introduce our latest craft beer innovation,” said Ty Gilmore, President, US Beer at Tilray Brands. “Colorado ORANGE Citrus Ale is tailor-made for Colorado at our Fort Collins brewery and it’s the perfect companion for SweetWater fans this summer.”
