Memorial Day Weekend is ON. And we’ve some interesting new beer releases that should pair smartly with the festivities.
Two Exotic Beach Beers (Cape May, NJ) – With much of the nation celebrating Memorial Day at the beach this weekend, Cape May Brewing is kicking off the On the Way to Cape May Series with two beach-themed releases worth dropping by the brewery for on your way to the beach.
On the Way to Cape May No. #001: Ice Cream Twist is a 7.7% Milkshake IPA inspired by those orange and vanilla swirled frozen custard cones we’ve all enjoyed on the boardwalk.
On the Way to Cape May No. #002: Watermelon Salt Water Taffy is a tart, sweet and juicy 6.7% ABV beach-forward release that pays homage to the Jersey Shore’s legendary Salt Water Taffy.
A World Famous Beer Returns (Baltimore, MD) – In July Heavy Seas will be returning a special beer that it did with (and for) the Royal Farms convenience/gas chain which operates 247 stores in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Brewed to pair perfectly with Royal Farm’s legendary fried chicken, Heavy Seas World Famous Pilsner is a crisp 5% ABV lager that the brewery modestly describes as being “out of this world.”
“We’re excited to partner again with Royal Farms this year on World Famous,” says Heavy Seas Brewmaster, Christopher Leonard. “We’ve added a touch of citrus flair to the aroma and flavor of this pilsner-style lager with the deft addition of Citra hops late in the boil and in the fermenter.”
Yore On! (Brooklyn, NY) – Threes Brewing has returned one of its most acclaimed beers which should pair brilliantly with the long holiday weekend. Brewed with a specialty malt that adds complexity and deeper grain notes, Threes Yore Czech Pilsner is a crisp and dry 3.9% ABV Czech-style lager that was crafted with a few simple ingredients: Czech malt, Saaz hops, lager yeast and soft water.
