Melvin Brewing’s story is a good one. What started as a small brewing operation at the Thai Me Up Restaurant in downtown Jackson is fasy becoming its own beer empire.

After generating raves and an almost fanatic following for their aggressive West Coast-style IPAs, the brewery opened a larger production facility in Alpine, Wyoming at the end of 2015 and added a brewpub in Bellingham, Washington in June.

And Melvin Brewing brought their ‘A’ game to this year’s Great American Beer Festival…brewing, Melvin Brewing – GABF “Brewery of the Year” Eyes Denver

The brewery took home a top GABF prize for Brewery Group Brewer of the Year and two gold medals  – one for their Hubert MPA in the American-Style Strong Pale Ale category, the other for Wet Hop Melvin, in the Fresh or Wet Hop Ale category.

Melvin’s trademark bus was all over Denver during festival week this year, (sometimes with marching bend, other times not).

And given that their booth at this year’s GABF drew some of the festival’s largest crowds. and the fact that Colorado is one of Melvin’s top markets, the Denver Post’s report that the Wyoming-based brewery was looking to open its third brewpub in Denver in spring 2018, while exciting, is hardly surprising.
