August is ON, but fall is just around the corner and American craft brewers are addressing the changing seasons with interesting beer offerings you’re gonna want to have around.
Mahalo! (Baltimore, MD) – On August 27 Heavy Seas Beer will be releasing its newest Joose Cannon Series variation and latest small-batch “taproom-only” release. Inspired by the famous tropical cocktail, Heavy Seas Joose Cannon Mai Tai IPA is a sweet and tangy 8.5% ABV India Pale Ale brewed with lime, orange, and orgeat syrup.
“A Mai Tai is such a fantastic summer drink, with lime, orange, and almond flavors,” says Brewmaster Christopher Leonard. “We knew it was a perfect inspiration for a great hazy IPA. Hops are the heart of any Joose Cannon, and this one features Citra, Lotus, Sabro, and Cashmere.”
The Joose Cannon label artwork was designed by local Baltimore artist its label artwork was designed Chris Shiner, of Chris Shiner Art. All the taproom exclusive beer labels will be designed by Shiner in 2021

Two New Sandman Variations (Denver, CO) – River North Brewery has two new Mr Sandman stout variations and they both sound serious.
River North Toasted Coconut Mr. Sandman is a sweet but never overpowering 12.1% ABV Imperial Stout with a creamy mouthfeel that lingers.
River North Rum Barrel Aged Cinnamon Vanilla is exactly that, a well-balanced 11.1% ABV Imperial Stout that takes rum flavors in in a sweet and spicy direction.
Get Grape Full (Columbus, OH) – BrewDog USA has fruit-forward year-round that was first introduced in 2015 and is currently available as part of its new Summer Mixed Pack. BrewDog Elvis Juice is a 6.5% ABV grapefruit-infused American IPA with a bitter edge tethered to a deep caramel malt backbone that prevents the full frontal fruit overload that mars so many tropical fruit-forward India Pale Ales.
