Summer is ON, but fall’s coming. And brewers are addressing the changing seasons with interesting beers you’ll want to chase down this weekend.
A “Best” Fest (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker Brewing has returned a classic that’s an oak-inspired homage to the great Bavarian tradition of Oktoberfest.
Lagered in in French oak barrels from a premium Napa Valley Cabernet producer, Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest is a 5.2% ABV Oak Aged Lager with an uber-smooth mouthfeel, a crisp malt profile and hints of noble German hops.
“Some recipes endure for a reason, and Oaktoberfest is a perfect example,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “We’ve been making this ‘Paso Festbier’ periodically for more than 15 years, and it has stood the test of time.”
BrewDog Goes To Hell (Canal Winchester, OH) – With over 100 million albums sold worldwide, Iron Maiden is considered one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history and now the legendary band has partnered with BrewDog USA on a new collaboration brewed exclusively in Columbus, Ohio.
A complex balance of malts and hops, Iron Maiden/BrewDog Hellcat is a hazy gold 6% ABV India Pale Lager with a citrus-forward flavor.
We’re thrilled to partner with a world-renowned rock band like Iron Maiden,” said James Watt, CEO and Co-Founder of BrewDog. “Iron Maiden, like BrewDog, have maintained their spirit of independence throughout their stellar career.”
Doubling Down On Delicious (Richmond, CA) – East Brother Beer Co. is a San Francisco Bay area brewery which was founded by two friends and excels at brewing classic styles. And they’ve a Freighter Series limited release worth your time. Brewed with Simcoe and Azaaca hops, and locally sourced malt from Admiral Maltings, East Brother Double IPA is an 8% ABV Double India Pale Ale with intense mango and citrus notes tethered to a sturdy malt-backbone.
