Starting in Canada, consumers will be able to experience Corona’s new non-alcoholic beer innovation during the winter months, a time of limited sunlight, especially up there.

Here’s the deal….

It seems like the “Dry January” movement gets bigger every year. And we’ve got to admit that the month long abstinence has gotten easier thanks to breweries increasingly versed in the art of making delicious and convincing beers that won’t leave you altered.

And on January 5th, Corona, the Mexican beer brand with a huge international following, announced a new innovation in the non-alcoholic sector, a buzz-free take on its signature brew infused with vitamin D.

Vitamin D is essential to humans for several reasons, including maintaining healthy bones and teeth. It may also protect against a range of diseases such as type 1 diabetes and, oh yeah, COVID. The human body produces vitamin D as a response to sun exposure. And just about everyone in the Northern Hemisphere, gets less sun in the winter.

, Hey Sunshine! New Buzz-Free Corona Beer With Vitamin DTapping into the health and growing sobriety movement, Anheuser-Busch InBev, which owns and distributes the Corona family of beers just about everywhere but the US, chose “Dry January” to introduce Corona Sunbrew 0.0% in Canada, precisely at the time of year when Canadians experience less sunlight.

Later this year, Corona will extend its new non-alcoholic product offering in the UK followed by key markets across the rest of Europe, South America, and Asia.

Corona Sunbrew’s development was challenging according to Brad Weaver, Global Vice President of Innovation Research & Development for AB InBev…

“The journey was not easy as vitamin D is sensitive to oxygen and light, and not easily soluble in water. But thanks to our ongoing investment in innovation and research and development, our team was able to create the only non-alcoholic beer with vitamin D, providing a unique opportunity in the market.”

IWSR, expects the global no/low alcohol category to grow a very sobering 31% by 2024. Corona Sunbrew 0.0% contains 30 percent of the daily value of vitamin D (so you’ll have to drink several) and only 60 calories per serving.
