BrewDog is upping the ante on a Willie Wonka inspired hidden gold cans promotion that it first ran last November.
Here’s the deal….
Starting on February 12th in the United Kingdom, BrewDog will be hiding 15 of what they call a “solid gold” can in random 12, 24, or 48-pack of its popular Hazy Jane IPA…
The IPA hidden cans aren’t actually gold, but facsimiles which can be exchanged for the real 24-carat gold cans which were produced in partnership with Thomas Lyte, Goldsmiths and Silversmith and valued at £15,000 ($19,700 US) each.
In addition to that, the 15 lucky winners will also receive £10,000 ($13,100 US) worth of BrewDog investor shares, which doesn’t suck either.
This from BrewDog’s announcement….
BrewDog Gold Rush 2021 kicks off with a Hazy Jane gold can launch on BrewDog.com this Friday 12 February.
Customers will be given the chance to win one of the 5x 24-carat gold Hazy Jane cans by shopping any Hazy Jane multipack.
Due to the high value of the prize, the cans will be sent out after customer verification – lucky winners will need to register their pack code and proof of purchase on BrewDog.com/GoldCan.
The brewer will then ensure winners receive their prizes safely.
And in keeping with the promotion’s ‘Willy Wonka’ theme, the golden can winners will be invited up to BrewDog HQ in Ellon, Scotland, where the winners will be taken on a private tour by founders James Watt and Martin Dickie.
So yes, BrewDog’s Solid Gold Can promotion is definitely inspired by the Roald Dahl’s dark fantasy (without the carnage), kind of like the brewery itself…
