World’s First Actual Desert Island Beer (Milton, DE) – In late January Dogfish Head will be releasing a beer that’s designed as the ONLY beer you need if you’re ever stranded on a desert island. And it’s a complex mix of nutrient-packed superfoods and chock full of essential amino acids, micronutrients and B vitamins, which you’ll need.

Deep purple and hazy in color, Dogfish Head’s It’s The End of the Wort As We Know is a 9.4% ABV slightly tart and Belgian-style Fruit Ale that’s fruity mixture of blueberries, acai and goji berries along with an assortment of ingredients including purple sweet potatoes, rose hips, chia seed, flax seed, spelt, oats and quinoa.

The world’s first nutrition-rich survivalist ale this ultra-limited release (only 200 packages!) is priced at $45. Octavia (Agoura Hills, Ca) –  Ladyface Ale Companie, will be celebrating their 8th Anniversary at the Ladyface Alehouse & Brasserie, the week of January 16th and they’ve crafted up a special anniversary ale for it. Ladyface Octavia is a 13.1% ABV blend of three barrel-aged ales–a Belgian Golden Strong Ale aged in Viogner wine barrels, a Sour Blonde Ale from neutral red wine barrels, and an Imperial Belgian Wheat Ale aged in bourbon barrels—each submerged for three years.

Chocolate Milked (Boulder, CO) – In late December, Upslope Brewing shipped a special Tap Room Series release that you might want to chase down. Smartly packaged in an actual one pint can and available at both of their tap rooms, Upslope Mexican Chocolate Milk Stout is a 4.8% ABV deep, rich and silky Milk Stout that was brewed cinnamon, chocolate and almonds.

Irish Whiskey soaked oak chips. Irish Blessing is a 6.2% ABV dark Coffee Stout brewed with rich black and chocolate malts for a bittersweet chocolate finish, and OZO Coffee to round-out the sweet Irish whiskey notes.

The Father Of All Tsunamis! (Pacific City OR) – Pelican Brewing has announced a new Barrel-Aged Craft Beer Series takes their core Tsunami Stout in an imperial and rye direction. Available this month in 22oz bottles, Pelican Father of All Tsunamis Stout is an 11.2% Imperial Stout that was aged to perfection Rye whiskey barrels.
