Beer Alert: New Summer Sippers And Fruit Ales

(Courtey Switchback Brewing)
The 4th of July is now behind us and American craft brewers are addressing mid-summer with a full slate of new beers you’re gonna want to chase down.
Nature’s Way (Burlington, VT) – At Switchback Brewing, New England’s first 100% employee-owned brewery, every release is carbonated during fermentation by the yeast itself resulting in a 100% naturally conditioned beer. Switchback simply moves the beer directly to the keg or bottle, leaving it unfiltered for the freshest, most natural flavor possible. And the brewery’s newest release is an uber-tasty example of this delicate process.
Totally unfiltered and 100% naturally carbonated, Switchback Zaboo Hazy IPA is a 5.9% ABV Hazy IPA with a fresh woodland hop aroma subtle notes of juicy stone fruit, honeydew melon, orange, peach and pear.

Paradise You Can Drink (Athens GA) – Just in time for you summer lounging, Creature Comforts Brewing has returned a special fruited treatment of Athena, the brewery’s year-round Berliner Weisse. Crafted with a generous complement of passion fruit and guava and a house blend of lactobacillus, Creature Comforts Athena Paradiso is a 4.5% ABV fruited Berliner Weisse with a subtle sweetness and gentle tartness.
Hitting The Beach (Charlotte, NC) – Charlotte’s biggest independent brewer, Sycamore Brewing has just released a summer-ready variation of one of its most popular beers. Brewed with a specially curated mix of hops that limit the piney taste of a traditional IPA, Sycamore Beach Candy is a 6% ABV easy-drinking IPA with a minimal malt menu that allows its citrus, berry and candy notes to shine.
“Beach Candy is a tropical take on our flagship beer Mountain Candy with each crisp sip transporting you to paradise,” says Sycamore Brewing’s co-owner, Sarah Taylor Brigham. “With a lower ABV, it’s crushable and the perfect IPA to sip on this summer, just as we intended it to be.”
