Beer Alert: New India Pale Ales And Tart Spring Seasonals

Winter is ON but spring is coming and American craft brewers are addressing things with a full slate of new beer offerings to help you weather the transition.

On The Horizon (Hershey PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing has a new spring addition to the brewery’s popular Hop Cycle Series, a line of seasonally rotating IPAs, which also includes Field Study IPA, Lucky Holler Hazy IPA and Blizzard of Hops Winter IPA.

Crafted with a subtle blend of pale malts, wheat and oats and a smart medley of Citra, Mosaic and Sabro hops, Tröegs Hop Horizon is a 6.5% ABV India Pale Ale with juicy waves of citrus, hints of bubblegum and a pop of tropical fruit. “The aroma hits you as soon as you crack a can,” says Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner. “It’s like smelling a hop field in full bloom.”

Pearental Guidance (Portland, OR) – Cascade Brewing is debuting the latest vintage of one of their most popular beers. Aged in oak barrels for up to one year followed by a secondary fermentation with Northwest-grown pears, Cascade Pear 2021 is a 6.5% ABV Sour Blond Ale with delicate aromas of pear, apple cider, and honeydew and a tart refreshing finish.

A Beer To Make Space For (Salt Lake City, UT / Denver CO) – After months of recipe development, experimental test batches, recipe reformulation, and learning new techniques Epic Brewing has announced a new year-round offering.

Built on a sturdy foundation of 2-Row, Caramel 20 and Honey Malts, as well as Nugget hops and Centennial hops for bittering, and then dry-hopped with equal amounts of Citra and Amarillo, Epic Space Debris is a classic 6.2% ABV West Coast IPA that’s copper in color with mild piney and tropical fruit notes.
