Fall has finally given way to winter in our latest collection of serious beer releases…And we’ve five interesting new craft beer directions (some of them ENORMOUS) that you’re gonna want to chase down as we look toThanksgiving and the weinter holidays

Viking Brewed (Akureyri, Iceland) Einstök Ölgerð, Iceland’s craft beer leader has announced that they are bringing a special holiday release to the United States for the very first time. Fueled on pure glacial water and brewed with Icelandic Birchwood-smoked barley that was flavored with spruce tips hand-cut from their brewmaster’s backyard, Einstök Icelandic Winter Ale is an 8% ABV seasonal with smoky pine and whisky tones that are not for the faint-hearted.

Golden Grisette (Athens, GA) – Creature Comforts just released their version of a beer that was originally brewed for miners in Belgium’s Hainaut Province. Named after the farm were the brewery sourced the beer’s wheat, Dayspring Grisette is a 5.3% ABV celebration of local ingredients and rare Belgian brewing practices.

Coffee Is As Coffee Does (Denver, CO) – Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project has a new Limited Release Series offering which focuses on the on the art of coffee roasting. Brewed using toasted coffee from Denver’s Method Coffee Roasters, Crooked Stave Coffee Baltic Porter is an 8.5% ABV coffee-infused Porter that’s now available in six-packs of 12-ounce cans.

Bishop’s Barrel No. 19 is an 8.9% ABV tart cherry blend that starts with the brewery’s famed Christmas Ale that is then aged with cherries and wild yeast stains in chardonnay barrels from Napa, California.

Facing The Abyss (Bend, OR) – Deschutes is returning one of their most critically-acclaimed beers EVER as part of their Reserve Series. Brewed with Black Strap molasses and dry-spiced with cherry bark and vanilla bean, Deschutes The Abyss 2017 Reserve is a MASSIVE 11.1% ABV Imperial Stout that was aged in bourbon, wine and new Oregon oak barrels.  Yesssssssssssssss!
