November is ON and American craft brewers are addressing the rapidly changing season with more exciting beers you’re gonna want have around.
Measuring Up (Framingham, MA) – Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing, an environmentally-conscience, awarding-winning craft brewery that sees beer as a way of bringing people together, has a winter release we’re pretty excited about.
Crafted with Simpson’s Maris Otter and Simpson’s DRC malt plus a touch of brown sugar, Exhibit ‘A’ Weights & Measures is a massive 10.5% ABV English Style Barleywine with rich notes of caramel, candied fruit, a bit of alcohol warmth and a sweet finish.
The Director’s Cut (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Mad Elf Ale is a holiday tradition on the East Coast but the brewery also released an uber-limited variation that takes the beloved cherry-fueled Belgian-Style Dark Ale in a tarter direction.
Adding Balaton cherries and the tartness that comes with them to a mix that already includes Bing, Lambert, Van and Royal varieties, Tröegs Mad Elf Grand Cru is a deep burgundy 11% ABV winter limited release that begs to be shared.
“Putting this beer in cork and cage bottles helps give it that extra special touch,” says Tröegs co-founding brother Chris Trogner. “It also means they’re great at keeping oxygen out. Since Grand Cru is a beer many people like to age, that’s a big plus.”
Passionate Brewing (Portland, OR) – Ecliptic Brewing has teamed up with Colorado’s Crooked Stave on its fifth Cosmic Collaboration of the year, shipping November 16 in 16-ounce cans and draft.
Brewed with Pale and Wheat malts and oats, a healthy dose of passionfruit and guava that is topped off with Sultana, Saphir and Idaho 7 hops, Ecliptic + Crooked Stave Passionfruit Guava Hazy IPA is a 7.5% ABV India Pale Ale which brings a blast of fruity flavor to the fall season.
