Award-Winning Oatmeal Stouts and India Pale Ales

Summer is ON! And brewers are addressing the season with intriguing new offerings you might want to chase down this weekend.

Transcendence (Atlanta, GA) – New Realm Brewing is celebrating its third anniversary with a HUGE IPA that  pushes the envelope yet again. Dry hopped exclusively with experimental hop varieties from the avant-garde minds of The Hop Breeding Co., including HBC 586, HBC 472, & HBC 692, New Realm Transcendental Experimental DIPA is an 8.6% ABV Double India Pale Ale  with big stone fruit and citrus notes.

“This release of Transcendental uses a truly unique blend of hop varieties to provide loads of tropical fruit, citrus, and even coconut aromatics,” said Mitch Steele, Brewmaster & COO of New Realm Brewing Co.  “It has a hint of dankness to it, and a sweetness that is reminiscent of a Creamsicle.”

Stout Stuff (Richmond, CA) – Founded by two friends, East Brother Beer Co. is a San Francisco Bay area brewery which excels at brewing classic styles. And they’ve a stout that absolutely nails it. East Brother Oatmeal Stout is 5.4% ABV, English-Style take on a proud brewing tradition with rich notes of milk chocolate, dark fruit and a soft finish.

Melon Made (Indianapolis, IN) – Sun King Brewery has a new addition to its Sunlight Cream Ale variations, that’s available as part of this summer’s Sunlight Cream Ale Party Pack. Sun King Watermelon Sunlight Cream Ale is a 5.3% ABV Cream Ale with a juicy fresh watermelon flavor, a smooth malt character and crisp clean finish.

Take A Break (Chico, CA) – Sierra Nevada Brewing has a bright summer seasonal that’s widely available and well worth your time. Brimming with juicy mango and passion fruit notes, Sierra Nevada Summer Break is a 4.6% ABV Session Hazy IPA that is smartly tethered to a sturdy malt backbone.
