Beer Alert: New American Stouts

February is “National Stout Month” and American craft brewers are wrapping up things with a darker roster of beers, all of them worth celebrating.
Darkness, Darkness (San Diego, CA) – Forged in 1995, AleSmith Brewing has been recognized as one of the world’s foremost craft brewing companies. Their beers are always worth chasing down, and the Speedway Stout variations never disappoint. And at the end of 2025 the award-winning brewery debuted a fun variation of their iconic Imperial Coffee Stout that that’s still available online.
Aged for 12 months in rye whiskey barrels and blended with traditional Vietnamese coffee, AleSmith Speedway Stout: Rye Vietnamese Coffee Edition is a massive 13.89%.ABV Imperial Stout that is blended with Vietnamese cà phê sữa đá (iced coffee with milk). The result is a chocolatey and bold tasting stout that perfectly complements the notes of oak, vanilla, and bourbon barrel in this massive barrel-aged stout, a true AleSmith legend.
AleSmith’s brilliant Speedway Stout variation is currently available online for direct shipping to California, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Minnesota, Texas, Illinois, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Virginia.

Into The Night (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing has a dark new yearound offering that we can’t wait to get our hands on. Built on a galaxy’s worth of oats and dark malts, Tröegs Night Gazer is a7.1% ABV American Stout with layers of dark roast, toffee and cocoa notes that linger, and a robust mouthfeel.
Darkness Done Right (Brooklyn, NY) – Going into the winter holidays Brooklyn Brewery returned something special that we think was one of the best beers of the year; a collaboration that once again united the craft beer pioneer with an esteemed bourbon icon, Kentucky-based Four Roses Distillery.
Aged for 3 months in Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon casks specially-chosen by Four Roses Master Distiller Brent Elliott, Brooklyn Black Ops is a 12.4% ABV Imperial Stout with dark cocoa nibs, milk chocolate, and vanilla-forward oak tones, accented by subtle notes of caramelized sugar and bourbon sweetness And the good news is it might still be out there but you’ll need to move on this.
