Weekend Beer: New East and West Coast India Pale Ales

June is ON and craft brewers are keeping things fun with new beers you’re gonna want to chase down this weekend.

Like Magic (Fort Bragg, CA) – North Coast Brewing, which has been crafting serious beer since 1988, has a new addition to its portfolio that’s the result of many years of experimentation with new hop varieties and hopping techniques. Inspired by the power of the rugged Pacific Coast, North Coast Pacific Magic IPA is a 6.8% ABV West Coast-Style India Pale Ale with big mango, papaya and pineapple aromatics, and bright citrus and berry notes.

, Weekend Beer: New East and West Coast India Pale Ales The label art was created by Michael Zontos, a talented Northern California artist, and active fisheries biologist. “One of our team members has been collecting his art,” said Marty Compton, VP of Sales, and Marketing, “and when we contacted Michael to see if he would be interested in working on our next label, he was thrilled to be a part of the Pacific Magic IPA story.”

Double Dead Head (Frederick, MD) – Each spring, Flying Dog Brewery returns Dead Rise Summer Ale the only beer made with the East Coast’s iconic OLD BAY seasoning. For the 2022 release, the brewery is doubling down on their spiced beer with the creation of an epic imperial version.

Crafted, of course, with the legendary OLD BAY seasoning Flying Dog Double Dead Rise is a 9% ABV Imperial take of the original with bright lemony citrus notes and a subtle heat brought on by the addition of habaneros.

Cologned (Saint Louis, MO) – Schlafly Beer has an award-winning year-round offering that pairs brilliantly with summer. Brewed with a centuries-old yeast strain which was imported from Cologne, Germany Schlafly Kölsch Ale is a 4.8% ABV refresher with the fruity aroma of an ale and the crisp, clean finish of a lager.
