Jazz Meets Craft Beer Meets Manhattan (New York, NY) – We view the craft beer biz as part of the entertainment industry here at American Craft Beer.com and that’s just one of the reasons why we’re excited about The NYC Craft Beer Festival-Summer Jazz event that’s taking place at NYC’s Webster Hall on July 20! Another reason why you may not want to miss this one-of-a-kind event (besides the multitude of brilliant summer craft beers being showcased by 75 of America’s best brewers) is that the music is being booked by the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club! We’re not sure that a jazz meets craft beer festival has ever happened on this scale before and will be following this festival closely…
Cigar City Introduces El Catador Club (Tampa, FL) – We predict you’re going to be seeing more of these kinds of things…a whole lot more. Cigar City Brewing has just announced their new membership program on their blog. El Catador Club is a special members-only club that guarantees you barrel-aged bottled releases as well as advanced access to purchase other special bottles.
Stillwater Artisanal releases Beer Inspired by Indie Rock’s Small Black (Baltimore, MD) – Stillwater Artisanal Ales has just released the second in a series that features beer inspired by cutting-edge music. The Stillwater Sensory Series is a craft beer and music collaboration that aims to create a full sensory experience – sound, sight, smell, touch, and taste. This time around, Stillwater’s Brian Strumke is working with Small Black, an indie band out of Brooklyn, whose song ”Breathless” (from their newest CD – Limits of Desire) serves as the inspiration for Stillwater Artisanal Small Black Black Saison.
Three Floyds Upgrades (Munster, IN) – It appears it’s all good at Three Floyds Brewing, who’ve just upgraded a number of things at their compound. According to their Facebook page, they’ve just overhauled their bottling line and installed a new Braukon brewhouse and look forward to increased production.
Move over Hanson…Mumford and Sons Will Soon Launch a New Beer (Lewes, UK) – The Argus is reporting that Mumford and Sons will launch their own beer at the upcoming UK-based Lewes Festival. They’ll be working with the town brewer Harvey’s to produce the Lewes Stopover Brew, which will be on sale at the two-day event.
A Rumor Mill Release You Want to Look Out For:
Breakside Brewery has announced a partnership with Portland Meadows, with whom they have bottled their Bavarian-style lager Lucky as Helles. The “official beer of summer racing” will be available beginning July 21 at the race track all summer long in 22 oz. bottles. It can also be found in select Portland-area stores starting next week.
