New Belgium Brewing To Takeover Little Creatures San Francisco Taproom

Launched in Western Australia back in 2000, Little Creatures was one the country’s first craft beer operations to gain significant traction. With a name inspired by a Talking Head’s album, as well as the little yeast microbes so important to beer, Little Creatures took off “Down Under” only to be purchased by a major Sydney-based beverage company, Lion, a subsidiary of Japanese brewing giant Kirin, in 2012.

Last year Lion funded Little Creatures first US outpost, a brewlab and artisan restaurant located in an ambitious 6,300 square feet space in San Francisco’s trendy Mission Bay neighborhood adjacent to Oracle Park and near the planned Golden State Warriors Sports and Entertainment Center.

In November 2019 Lion acquired New Belgium Brewing the fourth largest craft brewery in the US. And  now Eater SF is reporting that the Fort Collins-headquartered will now be taking over the space that Little Creatures has occupied for little more than a year.

Heineken Tests Reusable Bottle Draft Beer Systems At Retail In France

Heineken is testing the viability of draft beer dispensers at retail outlets in France. The pilot program, which Heineken implemented in partnership with local brewer Gallia Paris, allows customers to purchase fresh beer for consumption at home and encourages the use of reusable bottles at the same time.

“The system incentivizes customers to return or reuse the glass bottles,” according to FMGC “and also sources local beer to reduce the carbon footprint involved in transport, delivering a sustainability angle to the project.”

“Heineken has been building the quality & image of draught beers for decades, while simultaneously ensuring we become more green and rethinking how we can innovate to make a positive step towards waste reduction,” said Heineken’s global innovation manager for home draughts Chadi Abdo.
