Hooded Glory (Portland, OR) – Continuing their IPX Series, Hopworks Urban Brewery showcases a less common hop varietal with their IPX Single Hop Ale: Mt Hood. A relatively new varietal, first released in 1989, the Mt Hood is known for its clean bittering and mild disposition.  HUB has once again set a unique hop varietal apart with an organic, “Salmon-Safe,” dry-hopped IPA-style ale. 6% ABV 60 IBU.

The Best Yet…i (Denver, CO) – There’s been yet another wild beast spotted and this time it’s Great Divide Brewing‘s Espresso Oak Aged Yeti. We’re never one’s to back down from big time beasts and this one certainly fits the bill, tipping the scales at 9.5% ABV. Roasty espresso flavors are melded with it’s awesome vanilla oak flavor and big hop presence. Only available for a limited time this winter, so catch it now!

Golden Sour Goodness (Krebs, OK) – Those who revel in the world of sours know just how magical the work of Prairie Artisan Ales is and with their latest release, Funky Gold Amarillo, it’s once again blowing us away. Weighing in at a massive 7.5%, a huge ABV for a Sour/Wild Ale, the flavors coming from this thing vary from earthy funk to citrus and floral delights being that it sports Brettanomyces and Amarillo dry-hopping.

Snake in the Grass (San Marcos, CA) – The was much made about the re-release of The Lost Abbey’s Track 10, well a number of their most beloved barrel-aged blends start with the base of another seasonal style, the excellent Serpent’s Stout. This is one big ass snake, weighing in at 11% ABV and dark as the night, so be wary and keep a close eye on your soul.

Seventh Time’s the Charm (Everett, MA) – We’re always stoked to try new beers from brewers that are canning up a storm. Night Shift Brewing has been cranking out some phenomenal offerings of late, including their rotating IPA series called Morph. Batch number 7, released a few weeks back, is an easy drinker at 5.9% ABV,  featuring prominent tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from its three hop varieties.
