So many warm weather beers – So little time. Summer is here – and so are the beers of summer. And one of the things we enjoy most about the season are all the creative variety 12-packs that hit retail at this time of year… And here are some of our favorites.

Ninkasi Summer Variety Pack (Eugene, OR) – Ninkasi recently released their summer 12-pack, and it includes some beloved flagships like Total Domination India Pale Ale and Dawn of the Red. And since lagers are one of the things that Ninkasi champions, they’ve smartly added Lux their famed 5% ABV Helles to the mix. And to cap things off perfectly they’ve also include the special limited edition release Maiden the Shade – a lighter summertime take on the Northwest IPA.

Samuel Adams Beers Of Summer (Boston, MA) – We don’t want to hear from all you Sam Adams haters out there – because one of this brewery’s strengths are their low-octane offerings and lagers. Samuel Adam’s pioneering Boston Lager serves as the centerpiece for this variety pack, along with three less common titles including their 5% ABV Downtime Pilsner, Rebel Rider Session IPA and their crisp and slightly lemony Summer Ale. And if you opt for a 24-Pack they throw in Porch Rocker a Bavarian Radler that infuses a Helles Lager with an onslaught of fresh lemons for tart and refreshing results.

Victory Summer Selections (Downingtown, Pa) – Victory’s been putting out great summer variety packs of late and this year’s package is no exception. They’re always built around their award-winning flagship, Prima Pils, their exceptional warm weather seasonal Summer Love and their citrusy Whirlwind Witbier. This year’s special addition is Kühl Kölsch – a 4.9% ABV Kölsch that’s killer.

Uinta Mix’r (Salt Lake City, UT) – Uinta’s summertime compilation offers three different beers where most packages offer four) but the beers that they’ve chosen are all organic and truly worthy. The award-winning Wyld is a sessionable 4% ABV Extra Pale Ale that unlike many EPAs has been aggressively dry-hopped. Both robust yet silky smooth, Baba is a 4% ABV Black Lager – an unlikely and welcome choice. And they finish things off ably with another big-time award winner, Sum’r, an organic Summer Ale that has fast become one of the brewery’s most popular seasonals.

Sierra Nevada Summer Pack (Chico, CA / Mills River, NC) Sierra Nevada is known for their whole-cone and hop-forward IPAs so any of their variety packs needs at least one. But in addition to their signature 5.6% ABV Pale Ale, they showcase an interesting spectrum of summertime styles in this collection. Kellerweis is an unfiltered Wheat Ale that’s brewed in open fermentation tanks. Nooner is a classic Pilsner and they also include a true German-style Kolsh.
