Fall is just around the corner and American craft brewers are addressing things with new beers you’re gonna want to have around as the weather cools.

Brewed For A Better World (Brooklyn, NY) – Brooklyn Brewery has partnered with business Yolélé, a dynamic food business whose mission is to bring underutilized African ingredients to global tables, and have brewed up something special.

Crafted with fonio, a climate-resistant a grain in the millet family which has thrived in West Africa for over 5,000 years, Fonio Rising Double Pilsner is an invigorating 6.4% ABV Golden Lager with vibrant tropical fruit notes and a robust and crisp profile. The beer will be available at Whole Foods Market stores across the US starting early October, and in Brooklyn Brewery’s Williamsburg-based tasting room.

“No fertilizers, no irrigation, no pesticides, no insecticides, no fungicides – nothing. Whether you look at it from an environmental perspective, a social benefit perspective for the farming communities, or from a brewing perspective, fonio is so good that it seems like someone must have just made it up” said James Beard Award-winning Brewmaster Garrett Oliver…

“But fonio is real, and Africa grows 700,000 tons of it every year. Fonio is easy to brew with and gives beautiful flavors to beer. This is very exciting stuff, and I can easily envision a future where fonio is widely used as an everyday brewing ingredient, bringing vast benefits to brewers, beer drinkers, farmers and the planet.”

Run The Brews (Atlanta, GA) – Run the Jewels, the hip-hop super-duo composed of Atlanta-based rapper Killer Mike and Brooklyn-based rapper and producer EL-P, have a new southern addition to their Run The Brews / RTJX craft beer series and they’ve partnered with one of Atlanta’s best breweries, Monday Night Brewing, for this one. Infused with botanically derived terpenes and Fresh Motueka, Nelson Sauvin Cryo, Nectaron and Citra Cryo hops (all generously donated by their at NZ Hops and Yakima Chief Hops) Monday Night RTJX Southern IPA is a 6.5% ABV India Pale Ale with a distinct softness that delivers a subtle wave of fresh sour diesel and candied pineapple.

“In addition to delivering a decade of great music, Run the Jewels has been a tremendous supporter of craft beer,” said Brewmaster Peter Kiley. “This beer is a celebration of El-P and Mike’s groundbreaking work together, and the joy it brings to all of us, their fans.” And proceeds from this beer will be donated to PAWKids, a faith-aligned community hub in Atlanta.

And Oskar Blues Brewery crafts the perfect end- of-gameday beer for when you’re done with the light stuff and want to cap things off with something more aggressive. Strong, dank and tethered to a sturdy malt backbone, Dale’s American Double IPA is a 9% ABV India Pale Ale with a piney character that gives way to sweet, tangy finish that lingers.
