November is ON and American brewers are addressing things with an intriguing roster of beers you’re gonna want to have around as things cool down.
Guiness At Its Best (White Plains, NY) – November 7th was International Stout Day and we celebrated that date, with maybe the best pub beer in the world.
Brewed at St James Gate in Dublin, Ireland and available worldwide, Guinness Draught is a rich and creamy nitro-fueled Irish Dry Stout which at 4.2% ABV remains the classic pub beer for beer lovers around the world.
Developed in 1959, this beer marked a celebration of Arthur Guinness signing his 9,000-year lease and 200 years of groundbreaking brewing.

Darkness, Darkness (Escondido, CA) – Stone Brewing has returned a beloved classic that dates back 24 years and pours black as sin. Complex and indulgent, Stone Imperial Stout is an enormous 10.5% ABV winter seasonal with dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee notes and a full-bodied mouthfeel.
“I’ve been brewing at Stone for more than 20 years and Stone Imperial Stout is, hands-down, one of our greatest beers,” said Jeremy Moynier, Sr. Manager of Brewing & Innovation. “It’s such a perfect balance of flavors. I love it super fresh but it also ages really well too.”
The Stuff of Myths (Seattle, WA) – Widmer Brothers has a popular year round IPA that was inspired by this ancient myth…
“Legend says on Mt. Olympus, the Gods grew giant hops larger than mortal men that tasted so wonderful, only the Gods were allowed to enjoy them. When Atlas learned the Gods were keeping their beloved hops a secret from mankind, he knew something had to be done.
One night, as the Gods slumbered, Atlas carried the largest hop down to Earth so everyone could know the taste of heaven. Enraged by his defiance, the Gods banished Atlas to carry the weight of this world for all eternity”
A homage to Atlas’ burden, Widmer Brother Deadlift Imperial IPA is an 8.6% ABV India Pale Ale which was brewed with an almost mythological menu of Alchemy, Cascade, Nelson Sauvin, Willamette hops that are tethered to solid Pacific Northwest malt backbone.
