July is just flying by and American craft brewers are celebrating things with an ever-changing roster of beers that suit the season.
Brown Nose (Lakewood, NY) Southern Tier Brewing has new small batch release that pays homage to a beloved desert, the apple crumble, and a classic beer style. An apple crumble is a classic baked dessert made with stewed or sliced apples topped with a crumbly mixture of flour, butter, and sugar. It’s similar to an apple crisp, especially in the US, and more of a cold-weather desert which makes this mid-July release all the more surprising.
Inspired by the classic dessert and available now in gracious 16oz cans, Southern Tier Apple Crumble Brown Ale is a 5.5% limited release with warm hints of apple cinnamon and vanilla tethered to a sturdy a malt-forward base.
At the brewery in Lakewood, NY, there is not one, but two taprooms. The Empty Pint houses artisan foods and house-smoked meats, while the Callander overlooks the gorgeous Steinecker brewhouse. Adjacent to all of this is our indoor/outdoor seasonal patio, warm-weather performance stage.

Have Your “Best Day” (California) – Non-Alcoholic beers have come a long way since your uncle used to order an O’Doul’s. And there’s a Northern California brewery, Best Day Brewing, which makes a great Kölsch that just happens to be non-alcoholic.
Brewed using a smart combination of Cologne and Pilsner malts and Hallertau Traditional hops, Best Day Kölsch is a crisp and perfectly balanced refresher that comes with a nice toasty malt character but won’t leave you buzzed.
