New Barrel-Aged Stouts and Fall Seasonals

With Labor Day now behind us, there’s no avoiding it, fall is on the way. And brewers are addressing the changing seasons with smart beer offerings you’re gonna want have around.

Tuesday Drinking (Orange County, CA) – The Bruery has returned it’s 2021 variation of a barrel-aged favorite that was named in honor of the great stock market crash of 1929. The Bruery’s barrel program is one of the country’s finest. Home to one of the most celebrated barrel-aging programs in the nation (and more than 3000 barrels) it has has spent over 12 years perfecting the craft of barrel-aged beers.

The Bruery So Happens It’s Tuesday is a MASSIVE 15.3% ABV Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with dark chocolate and vanilla notes, rounded out with hints of freshly-picked cherries, dried figs, molasses, and of course: bourbon. And this year’s batch used about 150 individual barrels hand-selected for blending.

A Reason To Celebrate (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker Brewing has returned a classic, an oak-inspired take on a great Bavarian tradition. Lagered in in French oak barrels from a premium Napa Valley Cabernet producer, Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest is an Oak Aged Lager with an uber-smooth mouthfeel, a crisp malt profile and hints of noble German hops at the backend.

“Some recipes endure for a reason, and Oaktoberfest is a perfect example,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “We’ve been making this ‘Paso Festbier’ periodically for more than 15 years, and it has stood the test of time.”

Witch Way (Ipswich, MA) – True North Ale Company is celebrating fall’s inevitable arrival with something seasonal and witchy. Brewed exclusively for its fans in Salem, Massachusetts in 2019 and now seeing wider distribution, True North Season of the Witch is a 5.9% ABV Hazy IPA with explosive flavors and aromas of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and melon.
