(Sponsored Post) One of the Pacific Northwest’s most exciting craft beer festivals is returning to Vancouver, Washington this weekend and if you’ve never attended this wonderful three-day celebration (August 12th-14th), you’ve been missing out on a classic.

When people think “Vancouver” they often think British Columbia, and when they think Northwest Craft Beer they usually think Seattle or Portland.  But the local craft beer scene in Vancouver, Washington is fast becoming its own force in the region. Fifty of the region’s most cutting-edge breweries will be participating at this year’s Brewfest, including many of Vancouver’s finest.

Yes, many of the craft beer majors will be there. But there will also be a wonderful array of Portland trend-setters coming in, and some brilliant local breweries to enjoy.

Portland’s innovative Breakside Brewery will be showcasing their Lunch Break India Session Ale, a 5.2% IPA that we’ve been dying to try. Vancouver’s own, Loowit Brewing, will be serving their amazing Siouxon Kölsch and we promise you, it is not to be missed!

, Great Western Malting Presents The Vancouver Brewfest This Weekend!Fortside Brewing will be adding to the fun by debuting the “Official Beer of the Vancouver Brewfest” at this weekend’s celebration.  Named by fans, via a social media campaign sponsored by the brewery and the festival team, Free The Ripple is a one-of-a-kind 6% ABV hoppy Wheat Ale.

But the beer’s just a part of what makes the Vancouver Brewfest so special…

Unlike many commercial entertainments, this is a festival that’s deeply aligned with its community. Cody Gray, who founded this classic five years ago, believes strongly in the importance of giving back and in addition to being a spectacular time the Vancouver Brewfest funds three important regional charities. Northwest Battle Buddies provides service dogs to wounded veterans. Disabled American Veterans helps veterans locally in Clarke County.  And Second Chance Companions is dedicated to helping animals in SW Washington and the Portland Metro area.

The vendors participating in this weekend’s “beerganza” are as interesting as the beer.

Fifty Fifty Print will be onsite printing up shirts with the Vancouver Brewfest Logo on them as well, and Creative Nature will be offering their incredible airbrushed temporary tattoos… so why not?

The Glacier Tanks Music Stage will be showcasing the region’s best talent so you don’t want to miss that…bands like Hippie Love Slave on Friday, and Bone-Yard who are headlining on Saturday night.

Once again the 2016 Vancouver Brewfest kicks off its three-day run (August 12th-14th) this Friday at Ester Short Park and if you haven’t already purchased tickets, both one-day and full-weekend passes (along with festival hours) are on sale here.
