Goose Island’s Special Chicago Marathon Beer

Talk about a beer with a nice finish.

If we’d known there was a special beer for runners who finish at the upcoming Chicago Marathon, we would have started training…(or not).

Here’s the deal….

Founded in Chicago in 1988, Goose Island Beer has long been a supporter of “Windy City” sports and athletic activities…

In 2015, the now Anheuser-Busch-owned Goose Island donated a portion of every Green Line Pale Ale pint sold to Chicago’s 606 trail and park system.

And last April, the brewery announced that Goose Island had become the ‘official craft beer’ Chicago White Sox’s 2018 season.

Island, Goose Island’s Special Chicago Marathon BeerGoose Island also sponsors the Chicago  Marathon, an annual 26.2 mile race on October 7th. And this year they’ve brewed a special one-time only beer that will only be given to those who can muster what it takes (we know we can’t) to master the grueling course.

And now, the beer’s rundown (sorry)…

Brewed locally and available only to finishers, Goose Island 312’s Dry Hopped is described by NBC News Chicago as a “different spin on the 312 Urban Wheat, a lemony witbier with “extra brightness, which will no doubt prove essential to runners who have been torturing themselves for the last couple of hours.

And making things even better, it comes in a 16-oz. can with a label that has a map of the course and an area where runners can write-in their finishing time.

We also expect that Goose Island’s special Chicago Marathon release will have a pretty remarkable finish as well…just sayin.’
