Goose Island Beer Giving Away 50 Branded Bikes On 312 Day

On March 12 Goose Island is running a one day promotion in Chicago that’s like an Easter egg hunt, but with giant lemons, and if you find one they’ll gift you a bike.

With COVID-19 mandates loosening and spring is just around the corner, big breweries are marking the changing season with whimsical campaigns to promote warm weather beers.

Molson Coors-owned Leinenkugel’s is promoting one of its bestselling beers, Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy, by giving away an ice shanty worth $50,000, complete with light therapy lamps, a built-in furnace, holes for fishing, an audio system, snazzy lake house décor and a grill.

And now Goose Island Beer, which was purchased by Anheuser-Busch in 2011, is introducing 312 Lemonade Shandy, a new beer “inspired by Chicago’s classic street corner Italian ice stands,” with a giant lemon hunt.

To mark the new beer’s arrival, the brewery is giving away 50 limited edition bikes on 312 Day, which is March 12 by the way, if you’re lucky enough to find one of the 50 giant lemons they’ve hidden all over Chicago.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, “ “lucky lemon finders” can redeem the giant citrus for a limited edition bike at Goose Island’s Fulton Street Taproom on Friday (that’s one bike per person/lemon) and as this is a beer thing, you’d better be 21 or older.

Lucky winners will be able to check out the new beer at the official 312 Lemonade Shandy stand/taproom… so there’s that as well.
