, Free Busch Beer For A Year To Couples with Weddings Postponed Due To Pandemic

No matter what you think of Busch Beer, they’re nimble when it comes to attention-grabbing promotions. Like free beer FOR A YEAR if your wedding was cancelled because of the coronavirus…

Here’s the deal…

On April 15th the Anheuser-Busch owned, Busch, took to social media with a new promotion for those who saw their wedding plans go up in flames due to the now global spread of COVID-19.

Initially called Busch Bavarian beer, Busch was launched in 1955. With its distinctive Alpine mountain artwork and “Head for the Mountains” advertising tagline, it was the first beer introduced by Anheuser-Busch after the Prohibition era, and the first that still retains its founder’s last name.

That said, it’s not what you would call a premium brand. And although it’s sales pale compared to AB InBev flagships like Budweiser, this unassuming 4.3% ABV American Lager does have a following, most prominently in the Midwest., Free Busch Beer For A Year To Couples with Weddings Postponed Due To Pandemic

In 2019 USA Today named Busch the #10 best-selling brand in America (Busch Light was #9). Not bad in the same year that the popular slacker brand Pabst Blue Ribbon came in at a less impressive #18…so it’s not like Busch doesn’t matter.

But while Bud Light (#1) and Budweiser (#4) enjoy the Andheuser-Busch spotlight, as well as the majority of its advertising expenditures, Busch continues to find clever ways to market itself (primarily via social media channels) in fun ways that always catch our attention….

In January Busch ran a promotion where the amount of snowfall in seven Midwest states resulted in falling Busch Beer prices.

Around Valentines’ Day, with much of the nation already sheltering in place due to the coronavirus, Busch teamed up with Midwest Animal Rescue to launch the “Foster a Dog, Get Busch” promotion. And the first 500 new pet owners who adopted a dog through this program were gifted three months’ worth of free beer.

And now Busch Beer is offering a year of free beer to couples whose weddings were postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

To qualify for the free beer, couples must post a photo together and explain how they’re planning to celebrate their big day when it eventually arrives.

Photos must be posted using the hashtags #BuschWeddingGift and #Sweepstakes, so don’t forget that. And 250 winners (that’s a lot of free beer!), will be selected in a random drawing on May 2

The sweepstakes ends at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time on May 1. You can find details HERE and we’re sorry about your delayed wedding.
