Cooking With Beer – AleSmith Peach Lager Fruit Cobbler

, Cooking With Beer – AleSmith Peach Lager Fruit Cobbler

Festive foods take on new meaning when made with serious beer. And who doesn’t enjoy a freshly baked fruit cobbler, especially when it’s made with the right craft lager?

And although the recipe might work with a number of lagers we went with AleSmith Sun Path, a light and refreshing 4% ABV Lager brewed with real peaches, that affords this recipe just the right amount of natural sweetness without any artificial taste.

The beer’s subtle citrus tones work deftly with this wonderful recipe and again who doesn’t appreciate a freshly baked peach cobbler that’s made for the summertime?

So let’s do this!

Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 6–8 ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced (about 6 cups)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ cup lager ( AleSmith Sun Path,  or substitute a light, fruity lager)

Instructions
