Never has a product launch been so dependent on you showing zero interest…

Here’s the deal…

It’s a more sober world and low and no-alcohol brews have never been hotter. And with millions of millennials Gen Xers looking to healthier lifestyles, it’s probably not surprising that Anheuser- Busch has chosen this moment to introduce a “Bud” addition to the alcohol- free beer category.

And they’ve partnered with an NBA legend to do it…

Developed and co-founded in partnership with NBA, entrepreneur and advocate, Dwyane Wade, Budweiser Zero is a zero alcohol, zero-sugar, 50 calorie beverage which Anheuser- Busch claims has the same refreshing, full-flavored taste you’d expect from a beer that has branded itself the “King of Beers,” but with absolutely NO BUZZ.

“This is America’s genuine non-alcoholic brew. During Prohibition we brewed a non-alcoholic recipe for those who counted on Budweiser taste and quality. A century later, we deliver a fresh take on a classic recipe, with a smoothness and drinkability great for nearly every occasion.”

Co-founder and longtime Budweiser partner Dwyane Wade helped define Budweiser Zero’s core attributes, including the design of the sleek packaging and sporty sensibility…

Wade helped create Budweiser Zero with the athlete in mind…someone who wants Budweiser taste of a Budweiser without the after-effects that sometimes comes with alcohol, particularly in training season.

But in addition to people who live and die sports, Budweiser Zero is being marketed as an “elevated choice for those looking to maintain a balanced lifestyle and are looking for a beverage that won’t compromise that.”

“Budweiser has been a great partner of mine over the past two years and this was a natural next step,” said Dwyane Wade. “I’m really excited to join Budweiser in bringing their first alcohol free beer to life. With sports making a return, this is timely as Bud Zero is a game changer by letting athletes enjoy the taste of a refreshing beer without impacting their mental and physical game.”

And as part of its rollout, Wade will also appear in a whole series of Budweiser Zero advertising in the coming months.

In 2018 Anheuser-Busch InBev announced the creation of a new chief of non-alcoholic beverages officer as a means of boosting its footprint in the non-alcohol sector.

10% of the global brewer’s total business is already dedicated to non-alcohol brands and the company is projecting that 20% of the world’s beer production volume will move to non-alcoholic or low alcoholic products by 2025.

Bud Zero joins AB InBev’s growing family of sober alternatives which includes O’Doul’s, Busch NA, St. Pauli Girl NA and Beck’s NA in the US.
