On March 19, Molson Coors—home to the Blue Moon family of wheat ales—kicked off its second year partnering with writer and comedian Colin Jost, along with the return of its now-famous talking oranges.

Here’s the deal…

Blue Moon Belgian White has always been synonymous with its signature orange slice, and the brand’s latest ad leans fully into that identity—taking it in a playful, slightly surreal direction. Featuring Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost, the campaign brings the iconic garnish to life in a way that’s both quirky and memorable.

For the second year running, Blue Moon is teaming up with Jost to spotlight its orange ritual across high-impact TV broadcasts, as well as digital and social platforms. After making his debut as the brand’s first celebrity partner last year—sharing a barroom conversation with a father-and-son duo of talking oranges—the story now continues.

“A Blue Moon isn’t a Blue Moon without an orange,” said Elizabeth Hitch, Vice President of Above Premium Beer at Molson Coors. “Colin helps us tell the story of this iconic pairing in a fun and unexpected way in the latest chapter of the campaign.”

And yes, the talking oranges are back.

They serve as a lighthearted nod to the experience of enjoying a Blue Moon with its signature garnish. The brand is clearly all-in on celebrating the orange, once again enlisting Jost as the face of its latest humorous spot.

The new ad debuted during the NCAA “March Madness” college basketball tournament and will continue to run alongside last year’s original spot during major sporting events throughout the year, including baseball, hockey, and tennis broadcasts.

The campaign also extends online, with a series of digital-first ads featuring Jost in a range of comedic scenarios—from filming an “unboxing” of a perfectly poured, orange-garnished Blue Moon to attempting (unsuccessfully) to chip an orange directly into his beer during a round of mini golf. (No oranges were harmed in the making of the ad.)

“Blue Moon is crafted for elevated moments, but it’s approachable at the same time,” Hitch added. “It’s a beer made for great experiences that doesn’t take itself too seriously—and we’re happy to have Colin and some friendly oranges along for the ride.”
